Hi, I’m McKinley . Wife, mom, homeschooler, and the heart behind Owl & Fern.

Owl & Fern was created as a place to share our life, the learning, the slow moments, and the things that have helped our family create a more intentional home.

Years ago, our homeschool journey began with one simple realization: I didn’t want to miss it. I wanted to be there for the questions, the discoveries, the messy projects, the growth, and the everyday moments that make childhood so special.

Homeschooling opened the door to something bigger for our family a slower way of living, while also being extremely busy, in a good way. A way of learning that values curiosity. A home that feels peaceful and intentional. A deeper interest in wellness and creating a lifestyle centered around supporting our health naturally.

For over 10 years, I’ve spent countless hours researching and learning about natural health, low-tox living, ingredients, wellness practices, and ways to create a healthier home environment. I’ve also completed college-level herbal studies and continue learning every day.

Owls symbolize wisdom and knowledge. Ferns represent resilience, growth, and new beginnings.
